Mindfulness Activity for Children

Hello Little Dears!
Happy Day!
Today I’m going to show you something very interesting about your emotions.
For that You have to take a clear jar.
Fill it up with water.
Take a big spoon full of glitter and add it to the jar.
Put the lid back on the Jar and shake it.
Look at the jar carefully now. What do you see?
The glitters swirling, right? Can you see through clearly?
Obviously ‘NO’ when glitters are swirling.
Now imagine that the jar is your mind and glitters are thoughts.
When you are stressed, mad or upset see how thoughts whirl around and make it really hard to think clearly.
That’s why its so easy to make silly decisions when you are upset.
Don’t worry, this is normal and it happens in all of us, yep, grown ups too.
Now keep the jar on a table. Watch what happens to the glitters.
Keep watching.
See how the glitters start to settle and the water clears.
When you are still for a couple of moment, your mind works the same way.
When you are calm for a little while your thoughts start to settle down and you start to see things much clear.
So what you will do next time when your thoughts aren’t clear?
Keep yourself still like the jar for a moment.
Take deep breathe. Let the thoughts become settled and calm.
Now you are all set and ready to take any good decision.
